As much as I love having dinner parties with my friends or cooking a delicious dinner with my family, there are times when I need to take a break from the kitchen and order take-out and I’m sure you do too. I’ve put together a list of my favorite places in the city and exactly what I order! Let me know your favorite spots in the comments below. xx
Healthy With Nedi Approved Take-Out in NYC
Springbone Kitchen – Springbone uses real ingredients and avoids GMOs, antibiotics, canola oil and refined sugar. My favorite dish to order at Springbone is the Zucchini Spaghetti with Grass-Fed Meatballs and the Mexican Bowl made with cauliflower “rice”. If you are into bone broths then you must try the liquid gold which is chicken broth, coconut milk and turmeric. I add a squeeze of lemon at home and it is divine!
Sweetgreen – in my opinion, Sweetgreen is the best place in the city for superfood bowls and salads. The Shroomami Bowl is super yummy and I also enjoy making my own bowl. That way I can add more or less of certain ingredients and it is fun to get creative! There is so much to choose from, so have fun with it.
by CHLOE – this is my favorite vegan spot for take-out. I usually order the Guac Burger (I eat mine without the bun) and a Vegan Gluten-Free Chocolate Cookie. They also have a great section for “grab & go” which is great for picking up before traveling. If I have a flight coming up I stock up on the Matcha Kelp Noodles and Green Hummus.
Wild – my boyfriend and I love ordering from this restaurant for our cozy movie nights in on the sofa. We both try to avoid gluten as much as possible and Wild serves everything gluten-free! Our usual order includes: Zucchini Noodles, Chicken Parmigiano, Spicy Prosciutto Mushroom Pizza and Wild Mushroom Truffle Pizza.
Hu Kitchen – another great health spot that uses high quality ingredients, it is all gluten-free, stays away from GMOs & MSG, and is paleo-friendly. Their Breakfast Burrito Paleo Wraps are to die for and I love the Rotisserie Chicken with Market Vegetables and Cauliflower Purée. All of their desserts are insanely good, my favorites are the Chocolate Chip Cookies, Walnut Fudge Brownie, and the Hu Chocolate with Almond Butter and Puffed Quinoa!
Juice Press – I am totally obsessed with Juice Press’s Strawberry Superfood Bowl and Pesto Kelp Noodles. The Butternut Squash Soup and Super Green Soup are also delicious! Their food is low in calories and all of their ingredients are top-notch.
Republic – when I’m in the mood for a light dinner, I like to order the Salmon Sashimi and Chicken Skewers at Republic. Both portions are small, but delicious and satisfying nonetheless.
Inday – Inday serves up delicious and nutritious Indian food. My go-to dishes at Inday are the Chaga Charcoal Chai and the Cauli-fornia Bowl topped with chicken tikka.
Peacefood Cafe – another great vegan venue that has a great take-out menu! Some of my recommendations include the Fluffy Quinoa Salad, Raw Lasagna, and the Chickpea Fries with Indian Spices.
Melt Shop – if I’m feeling really naughty I stop by Melt Shop on my way home and pick up a Truffle Melt and Three Cheese Toast (gluten-free of course:)). It is super delicious!
Westville – Westville is a long-time go-to for a variety of tasty dishes that are made with fresh ingredients. I usually order the Arugula & Parmigiano Reggiano Salad and Grilled Marinated Chicken with two market sides – Asparagus with Parmesan and Mushrooms with Leeks and Herbs.
Dig Inn – I like Dig Inn because they source their produce from local farms and use seasonal ingredients. My go-to order is Roasted Carrots with Kale and Pumpkin Seed Pesto, and the Herb Roasted Chicken Breast.
