Although saying goodbye to the summer months is bittersweet, there is something special about fall in the City. The leaves start to change, the weather is perfect and pumpkin season is in full-swing. Although fall often flies by, there are so many fun activities to explore – so take advantage of them before before it gets too cold to be out and about!
Pumpkin Patch & Pumpkin Carving Party – Get out of the city for a day and explore a pumpkin patch with friends. Pick the perfect pumpkin and throw a pumpkin carving or decorating party with friends!
Apple Picking – What is better than freshly picked apples? Take a short drive outside of the city and go apple picking. There are so many orchards outside of NYC, so definitely take advantage of them before it gets too cold!
Fly Nyon – Although NYON is a super cool experience any time of year, fall is the perfect time to try it so that you can have a breathtaking, bird-eye view of the city’s fall foliage. I’ve done it twice and loved it!
NYC Autumn Wine and Food Festival – Don’t miss out on trying different artisan food and wines at this year’s Wine and Food Festival on October 19th. This is a great option for a day that may not be so nice out. Make sure to go with an empty stomach and try all of the amazing local bites!
SERRA D’AUTUNNO by Birreria – Enjoy an afternoon on Eataly’s seasonal rooftop restaurant this fall. Their autumn restaurant is beautifully decorated with fall foliage and their menu is filled with must try pumpkin dishes. They even have fall inspired cocktails – perfect for a happy hour with friends!
Central Park – Surround yourself with stunning colors of fall at central park. There are many things to do in Central Park that often go under appreciated. Have a picnic with friends, go on a run, take photos or go on a carriage ride… the options are endless.
Storm King Art Center – Check out this stunning outdoor art museum in Hudson Valley only a short train ride outside of the city. I love this museum because it’s a great way to explore and admire stunning art outdoors rather than inside a traditional museum.
Cooking Night In – Gather your loved ones and close friends for a cooking night in! Get creative and decorate your apartment with cute fall candles and pumpkins, get some wine and serve cozy, fall-inspired dishes. This is a perfect way to spend time with friends in a more intimate setting. Check out my website for several fall-inspired dishes and this post for some of my favorite fall vegetables.
