As many of you know, I travel to Greece every summer and love it so much. When I’m not spending time with my grandmother, I go to the beach with friends. The beaches in Athens can get really crowded (and there are MANY public ones), so it’s important to know exactly where to head. Don’t worry, I’ve visited them all, so I can save you time with the list below.
MY FAVORITE BEACHES IN ATHENS
Astir Beach
If you are a lover of the waterside, I recommend visiting Astir Beach. If you are not staying at the hotel, you can purchase a day pass to the private beach. Because it is private, there are far fewer people so that you can spend a peaceful day with incredible views of the Aegean Sea.
Krabo Beach
Krabo Beach is located in Vouliagmeni, making it the perfect destination for people who would like to go to a nice beach that has an island vibe. You will seriously feel like you are in Mykonos with this set up. Equipped with beautiful sunbeds, cabanas, & a DJ – you can enjoy all of this while having lunch at the Mediterranean restaurant. It is super chill and has an absolutely gorgeous views + it is much smaller than Astir so it is more private!
The Pools at The Grande Britagne and Hilton Hotel
Not technically a beach, but these are beautiful outdoor pools that are not to be missed, particularly if you are staying in the city center and don’t feel like driving over 30 minutes to get to the beach.
Hello,
Thanks for your beautiful websit. I’ll be visiting Greece in May and I’m already looking for the best private beaches. Could you please tell me If i can book in advance for the day pass at the Astir Beach ? What else would you recommend visiting while being there ?
Did you take a boat to another island for a day ? because i’m very interested in doing that but I dont know where to start looking.
Have a nice day ! 🙂
Thank you so much. You don’t need to book a day pass in advance. It is very spacious and I think you will be more than ok. The concierge at your hotel will be able to arrange a boat to go to an island. Have fun!
